Welcome to the Music Department.

Music at Dumpton aims to:

Encourage pupils to ‘open their ears’ so that they may ‘listen to’ rather than just ‘hear’ a piece of music.

Expose the children to a wide range of music through listening, performing, playing, composing and singing.

Make music in class, and to relate this, through form, mood or theoretical work, to their listening.

Ensure that each child leaves Dumpton with an enjoyment, appreciation and understanding of the music they have experienced.
